Geospatial video embedded with GPS using Remote GeoSystems “Whisper” persistent metadata technique can be edited using Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
Please note, currently only videos recorded with the geoDVR™ are automatically embedded with GPS metadata using the persistent Whisper video geotagging technique. (In the near future there will also be some other post-recoding methods to geotag video using Whisper.)
1. Exporting Edited Geospatial Video
Here are the steps for exporting the edited geospatial video. NOTE: You must use Adobe Premiere Pro CC (Version 7.2.1 or newer).
1.1 Once edits and changes to the video are made using Adobe Premiere Pro CC, to preserve the GPS data you’ll need to save the video with uncompressed audio at a sample rate of 48000 Hz.
1.2 In order to extract the GPS from the video, the video needs to be saved in AVI format using a NTSC DV presets.
When you Export the edited video, you get the following dialog:
Referring to the Export Settings on the right, please make sure the following are set:
Under the Audio Tab, please make sure to use the following export settings.

2. Extract GPX File From Edited Whisper Video Using LineVision Pro Edition (including LineVision Esri Maps, ArcMap Add-in & Google Earth Extension)
Once exported from Adobe Premier, you can extract the GPX files using LineVision – Pro. If you do not have a copy of LineVision you can request a trial at: https://www.remotegeo.com/contact-us/request-trial/
2.1 Once installed, please open LineVision and select “Advanced->Extract GPS Data from geoDVR Video”:
2.2 Once selected, you will be prompted to open the edited video. Once open, you will then be asked where you would like the GPX file (video companion file) to be saved.
Once the .GPX file is created, you can open the video in any version of the LineVision software.
