How it Works

Load GIS maps to follow in flight for airborne video missions using the geoDVR Live Moving Maps Module.

Prior to taking flight, operators simply take relevant shapefiles or KML (we find KML usually works best) provided by your GIS Department and directly load them to the geoDVR Map Window panel. Now with the map data loaded to the geoDVR Map Window, camera operators can geospatially reference their data collection target on the map interface while also observing their current aircraft, vehicle or vessel position as it moves along the selected shapefile or KML data in real-time.

Typical Applications for In-mission Live Moving Maps

  • Power Line Inspections
  • Pipeline Patrol & Leak Detection
  • Wildlife Habitat Monitoring
  • Aerial Fire Fighting & Wildfire Mapping
  • Gimbal Camera Integration and Live Moving Maps

Remote GeoSystems also offers custom GPS location data integration of the gimbal camera IMU or “boresite” location (where the cameras are pointing) in addition to the current aircraft location.
