Gimbal Cameras Integration

Remote GeoSystems can also work with high-end gimbal camera manufacturers for custom GPS location data integration of the IMU to get “boresite” location (where the cameras are pointing) in addition to the current aircraft location. Some cameras will even calculate the geometry for the 4 corners of the video frame, having this capability will help you get the video footprint on the map that is often seen in Esri FMV examples.

While in the future we’ll probably see more support for more sophisticated non-gimbal MISB FMV video cameras, automatically getting these coordinates for footprints overlaid on ground is still pretty rare today without a gimbal integration.
