Our LineVision Esri ArcMap Add-in is and extension for Esri’s industry-leading, GIS desktop application. LineVision Esri ArcMap Add-in gives GIS professionals an easy way to map, analyze and package geo-referenced video, photos, notes and files in a familiar and traditional Esri mapping environment.
The LineVision Esri ArcMap Add-in supports what is referred to as geotagged or geospatial video, meaning digital video files with associated GPS companion or sidecar files. Geospatial video is currently the most common method used by GPS-enabled cameras and DVR systems, from simple action cameras to consumer and commercial drones, to purpose-built airborne and vehicle video systems like our own geoDVR. It’s also important to note that geospatial video usually differs in geotagging methods and data structure than the MISB Full Motion Video (FMV) standard specifically utilized by Esri’s ArcGIS Full Motion Video (FMV) add-in, which is why customers will often use both, depending on which video data type they are working with at the time.
(You will need to have Esri’s ArcMap software installed to use the LineVision Esri ArcMap Add-in. If you are not an ArcMap user, please consider our stand-alone LineVision Desktop application which is designed for non-GIS users who want to leverage Esri data and maps.)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
LineVision Esri ArcMap Add-in
How can I share the videos I will make with LineVision with my clients? Will they also have to buy the LineVision software to view my content?
The geoProject format is the ideal way to deliver an interactive and immersive map-based deliverable to your client. (Click here for more on geoProjects.)
However, to offer that type of functionality, requires software that make that all work together.
If you are using the Remote GeoSystems geoProject format for your deliverable, then your client will need some sort of version of LineVision Basic edition or higher to view the saved geoProject.
Since we do offer the monthly plans, so you could subscribe for your client and turn off their subscription for the months that its is not being used.
Alternatively you could create screen capture of the LineVision running if you just needed to send your client a movie. There are also the automated reports that can be exported in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as mission plans that can be exported as KML files. But again, the map interactivity with video requires the LineVision software currently.
Do you have a published standard CSV format so I can be sure my geospatial video GPS data companion files are compatible with LineVision?
Yes. LineVision accepts many different GPS Data companion file types and to make it easy we have a published very simple CSV spec for LineVision.
The format is as follows:
The 1st row MUST be the following:
LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, ALTITUDE, UTCTIME, SPEED, COURSE
From there, each additional row just needs to be the corresponding values.
You can download the Simple CSV file format example by clicking on the document title below.
